Face Reading and the Five Elements

The Five Elements of the Face

I have just completed the Qi module in the Master Face Reading Programme. In the last three months I discovered where on the face the five elements are seen, how they relate to temperament, health, disease and life path motivation.

Each element adopts each facial feature. Here are just some examples of where on the face the strength of these elements are seen, eyebrows (wood element), chin (water element), nose (metal element), eyes (fire element) and mouth (earth element).

Lets Go Deeper

Using the eyebrows as an example, we see how they resonate with the Wood Element and the energetic organs of the Liver and Gallbladder, all determining your emotional yang energy for drive, passion, decisiveness and how you handle anger.

To ascertain the strength of the Wood Element we look at their size, thickness, shape, hair quality and how wide apart the eyebrows are set. Skin colour from behind the eyebrows are also important.

Eyebrows: What Do They Say About You?

Have a look at your eyebrows, then check the eyebrows of a loved one too, how different are they?

Eyebrows show how much passion, drive and determination you have.

  • Generally the longer and thicker the eyebrows are, the more passionate emotional yang energy you have. Meaning more energy for lots of friends, determination and driven and perhaps energised to move forward. You may hold onto anger more easily but when it’s released it can be big and scary to others and yourself sometimes too.

  • Finer smaller eyebrows suggest there is less energy for lots of friends and whilst you maybe passionate about hobbies, career or loved ones, you may lack the motivating force to drive these through into manifestation. Anger maybe easily attained, annoyances frustrations and irritations may make you fly off the handle easily, your anger expressed won’t be so scary for both you or your loved ones. You may easily move on from day to day irritations too.

Eyebrows: What They Say About Your Health

  • Another saying is bigger the eyebrow, bigger the depression too. Does your wood energy flow smoothly, are you able to acknowledge and release frustrations and anger in the momement? Are you able to be direct and express yourself? Whether that is in person, writing or movement, is there an ability to express fully and let go.

  • Thinning eyebrows. No matter your age this is a sign of a health/life imbalance. Lillian my teacher would ask “are the leaves falling from their trees? If so there is a problem with the tree.” Your wood energy can no longer hold on to the leaves(eyebrows), the organ energetics are weakening due a tired Liver and Gallbladder.

Thinning Eyebrows and Life Challenges

The Liver and Gallbladder cleanses toxins. Sparse eyebrows are a sign of too much toxicity, whether that is medication, herbs, alcohol, drugs or old resentment and anger.

This maybe observed as a lack of energy to move forward or feeling of outbursts of anger, flying off the handle easily, perhaps you feel less connected to lots of friends or perhaps a lack of drive and determination.

Health Indications

  • End of the eyebrow suggests to check your thyroid.

  • Midpoint of eyebrow suggests you might be holding onto old anger and resentment.

  • Patches throughout suggest a tired Liver, too much herbs/medication/alcohol, too much of what we call a “Woody lifestyle” meaning you are in the “doing” zone too much and need to retreat into the “being” zone more often. Slowing down and rest is needed.

Face Readings To Improve Health and Life

Eyebrows are just one small insight into how the five elements are represented on the face in health and life. A reading can focus on many areas such as mind/body health conditions, our tendency towards behavioural patterns, personality traits as well as past traumas, emotional blockages.  It also highlights your underlying strengths, unique talents and abilities and a deeper insight into your true nature.
